29 Brothers Attend Lakewood Golf Outing!
The Annual Phi Kap Alumni Golf Outing was reborn on Saturday, October 13 at the Lakewood Country Club.
Dormant for the last few years, the enthusiasm for the event was evident as the brothers started filing in.
The morning was cold, damp, and raw . But that did not deter our stalwarts from sledgehammer back slapping, bone crushing hugs, and loud and raucous old fashioned Seton Hall Phi Kap chop- busting. Expletives deleted.
The guys teed off at 10 AM and the sun peeked though by 11- making for a decent day on the 18 hole course.
Afterward there was a pizza ,wings and beer at Maggie’s-a pub on premises. And a raffle which was won by Brother Bill Black ’81 - entitling him to a free round at next year’s event.
A rousing financial success, $1900 was raised for our scholarship fund (two $500 awards are given to chapter undergrads each year.) This eliminates the need for a fund raiser which was planned for December
Brother Mike Trapani ’01 chaired the event and did a masterful job of organizing and arranging the whole thing. He also received a big assist from Brother Brian Giles ’14 Association Webmaster who promoted the event,, and Brother Jim Spaeth ’65 Association Treasurer who handled the money end. Bravo and thanks to all!
