Brother Nicholas Scalera 63' Publishes How Megan’s Law Affects Juveniles in New Jersey
A booklet entitled, How Megan’s Law Affects Juveniles in New Jersey, explains how the law applies to youth who were convicted of a sex offense when they were younger than 18 years old. It was written by Nicholas R. Scalera, a former Director of the State of New Jersey’s child protection agency, with more than 50 years’ experience in youth and family services management and nonprofit board management.
The booklet offers guidance to child welfare workers, child advocates, law guardians, public defenders, law enforcement officers, staff in Megan’s Law Units of County Prosecutors’ offices, school districts’ staff, teachers, principals, guidance counselors, family court judges, mentors of youth and others. The guide utilizes a question-and-answer format to describe the complex provisions of Megan’s Law in simple, easy-to-understand language.
Brother Scalera was also recently selected to be featured in Seton Hall Alumni Relations top 100 alumni profiles. More can be read on Brother Scalera's contributions to the University here.
